I’ve always seen my IT career as a never ending work in progress. Part of this is because there’s a lot of stuff i’ve always wanted to study and am now organizing to cover them somewhere between now and later.
Digital forensics is the big bad final boss, it would be the evil emperor in a cliche fantasy story for me. But before I get there, I have to climb Cybersecurity Mountain, and entry level cybersecurity is its own battle to fight, especially nowadays. I feel like to get *there*, it’s best to know as much as you can about “the network” in general. Whether or not EvilCorp has their servers wired to their AV is something I want to know if i’m going to be working on it. As such, i want to know about AV, IT, Telecom, Cabling, etc. As Perrywise, I only do everything so this knowledge is paramount!
